Wichita is a cool place because … “There’s a lot of things to see. We’ve got the aircraft industry. We tour people though that. We’ve got the art downtown with the statues and the ‘Keeper of the Plains.’ We’ve got WSU and Kansas Newman. We just have a lot of things for people to go see.
“I retired from Wichita Transit and got into the trolley business.”

What kind of things have you found surprising about Wichita?
“I’ve lived here all my life, 65 years. And we have professional guides on our trolleys and every time I go with them, I learn something new about Wichita.”

If somebody is in town for four hours, what one thing should they see?
“I think I’d bring them by the ‘Keeper of the Plains.’ We do lots of weddings on Fridays and Saturdays and they all want to come down to the ‘Keeper’ and take their pictures because it’s really awesome. Then around the corner you have the Veteran’s Park, which is really awesome. Sometimes we stopped there with veterans from out of town and have a sandwich. People kind of ignore it, but we’ve got it fixed up really good.”
